Gayatri Mantra - Sacred Mantras
The Gayatri Mantra (ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्) is the most sacred mantra in Hinduism, found in the Rigveda (3.62.10). Composed by sage Vishwamitra, it is addressed to Savitr — the divine solar consciousness. Chanting the Gayatri Mantra illuminates the intellect, purifies the mind, and connects the practitioner to the highest divine light. It is traditionally chanted 108 times at sunrise, noon, and sunset.

Transliteration: Om Bhur Bhuvah Swah | Tat Savitur Varenyam | Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi | Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat ||
Meaning: We meditate on the divine radiance of Savitr (the all-pervading divine solar consciousness) who illuminates the three realms — earth, atmosphere, and heaven. May that divine light inspire, purify, and guide our intellect.
Benefits: Illuminates the intellect and bestows wisdom, purifies the mind, removes negativity and sin, awakens spiritual consciousness, improves memory and concentration, and connects the practitioner to divine solar energy. Chanting 108 times daily is said to be the most direct path to spiritual illumination.
